His story

Steve, what qualifies you to offer technical support services to seniors or to the general public?

I have been passionate about technology since I was a child. In my early youth, my parents recognized this and gave me an Atari 2600 for Christmas one year. That started me on my long tech journey.

As I grew up in the 1980s and entered higher education, I always took the opportunity to sign up for computer classes that fueled my desire to become a computer programmer. This continued well into my college years and eventually culminated in my first full-time job as a computer programmer at the market research firm Ipsos-ASI in 1995.

Fast forward 30 years, and I have led an extensive career in tech, supporting family, friends, colleagues, and private sector businesses plus their clients. This has included many years of dedicated service to several internet-related start-ups and telecom companies such as Sprint and Comcast Communications.

You seem just as passionate about photography. Why should people hire you for these services? How did you get started?

My interest in photography started with my grandfather. He captured all our family gatherings when I was growing up. Because of him, my family has generations of photo albums to treasure and look back upon. Without him and his dedication to capturing those moments, we wouldn’t have access to those important life events. And I recognized this.

Over the years, I noticed that I had an exceptional eye for identifying and framing a picture in my head and then capturing it. Even family members pointed that out to me from time to time. This gave me the confidence I needed to buy my first real camera back in 2005, which was an Olympus camera with two kit lenses. I later became interested in using Fujifilm cameras and their stellar lenses, such as their 100-400mm lens for shooting wildlife.

As I practiced and gained more experience, I started experimenting in different areas of photography, such as astrophotography, infrared photography, and family portraits. Studying these different areas of photography gave me a well-rounded view of what a camera can do and how to achieve the desired outcome.

I love having the opportunity to capture people’s warmest moments. I know from experience how important that is to people and for future generations.
